The Broken Luna’s New Pack Chapter 08
Two months later, Yvette and I returned to the werewolf realm.
We gathered the warriors we had once worked with and established a small pack of our own, the Fullmoon Pack.
On the day the pack was founded, we immediately became well-known because we had both Lycan warriors and Royal Warriors among us.
More and more warriors, aspiring warriors, and werewolves who had been abandoned by their packs or expelled after being rejected by their mates joined us.
The Fullmoon Pack continued to grow larger and stronger.
Kendall and Marcus, who were responsible for registering new members, complained nonstop, but their hands never stopped working.
Yvette rubbed her tired, bloodshot eyes and sighed, “Right now, except for eating and going to the bathroom, I haven’t left the training ground at all.”
Everyone burst into laughter, but no one slowed down their work.
Under the sunlight, a line of people ran laps around the training field. Inside the pack house, food and supplies were piled up for the new members who had just joined.
For a moment, I finally felt that the pack I had dreamed of building had truly become real.
And I finally understood. Accepting loss, accepting rejection, leaving
—
decisively, and forgetting Damian and Rosalie were not as painful or difficult as I had imagined.
I just never expected that Damian and I would meet again.
Only two months had passed, yet Damian looked as if he had lost several layers of his former confidence. When he stood outside our pack house wearing a wrinkled hoodie, I almost failed to recognize him.
Those eyes that once held endless pride and ambition now only carried exhaustion and red veins.
My Beta stopped him three times. But he still waited outside the pack house for three hours. When I came out, he was crouching on the steps with a cigarette burning between his fingers.
The moment he saw me approaching, he hurriedly threw it away and stepped on it, “Willow, you’re finally willing to see me.”
I frowned, “What are you doing here? Alpha Damian, if I remember correctly, we have nothing to do with each other anymore.”
Hearing that, the foot he had lifted forward froze in place, “I… I came here to say I’m sorry. And Rosalie and I are already over.”
I looked at him calmly, “Does any of that have anything to do with me? And now you’re finally saying sorry. Don’t you think it’s a little too late?”
“I’m sorry. It was my fault…” Damian lowered his head awkwardly, “I never thought Rosalie would become that crazy. I never thought she would rather hurt herself just to frame you.”
—
“I’m sorry, Willow. These past two years, I was a bastard. I was the one who failed you and your love. I don’t expect you to forgive me. I just want you to give me a chance to make up for everything.”
“A chance? Didn’t I already give you countless chances? The first time I asked where the dog hair on your clothes came from. The second time I asked why you went to find Rosalie. When I tried my best to save our relationship with dignity, you gave me the most disappointing answers every single time.”
Thinking about everything that had happened two months ago, I let out a bitter laugh, “My parents never loved me since I was a child. My brother’s kindness toward me was nothing but an act. Damian, do you know what I thought? I thought you would be the person who loved me the most.”
“From the moment we recognized each other as mates until now, we went through seven or eight years of a long-distance relationship. We fought side by side countless times. We survived the hardest moments our pack ever faced. I truly believed we would make it to the end. But what did you do?”
I held Popcorn in my arms and looked at him with disappointment.
Deep down, I still felt unwilling to accept that I had wasted so many years of my youth.
“You said I broke my promise on your birthday, so you chose to betray our mate bond. But Damian, did you forget? You were the one who said you wanted to escape your parents’ control. You were the one who wanted to build your own pack and prove yourself. So I gave up the chance to become a Royal Warrior and returned to the pack without hesitation to build everything from the beginning with you.”
—
“That day, I missed our appointment because I collapsed after overtraining. I didn’t tell you because I was afraid you would worry. You only needed to ask your Beta. You would have known whether I intentionally broke my promise.”
“But you were too selfish. Too stubborn. You stopped loving me a long time ago. That was why you chose to go home with Rosalie. The person who betrayed us first has no right to ask for forgiveness.”
Damian stood there silently. His lips moved several times, but in the end, he couldn’t say a single word.
I turned aside and opened the door, “Leave. Don’t come to my pack again.”
The moment the pack house door closed, I leaned against it and closed my eyes for a while.
When I opened them again, he was already gone.
I returned to the Alpha office, held Popcorn in my arms, and continued with my new work.
Later, I heard that the Newmoon Pack lasted less than three months.
Its members left one after another. Partnerships were constantly terminated. Allied relationships collapsed.
On top of that, Rosalie took away more than half of the pack’s assets. Even the inheritance Damian received from his father couldn’t save the pack.
In the end, he had no choice but to disband it completely.
As for Rosalie, her reputation in the werewolf realm was completely
—
ruined. No pack was willing to accept her. She became a rogue.
During that time, she sent me apology messages several times. But I never opened a single one.
As for my mother and Tobias, without my financial support, they failed to pay the mortgage. The bank eventually took back the house, and my mother could only return to my father’s pack in disgrace.
My alcoholic father continued drinking and became violent as always. They wanted to leave, but they had nowhere to go. Tobias even lost his job after my father caused trouble at his workplace.
When those stories finally reached me, I had just finished training with the new members of my pack.
Outside the pack house window, the night was peaceful.
Popcorn’s warm breathing rested against my palm as I held her.
Looking out at the countless lights, the busy streets, and the peaceful years ahead, I finally understood.
I would never waste another tear on people who were not worth my pain.
