Marriage Lottery: Heaven Sign Or Hell Ticket Chapter 08

The moment I spoke, Vivian froze in place.

A beat later, she stumbled back in terror, staring at me as if she had seen a ghost. “You were reborn, too! Aria! You bitch, you actually got another life as well!”

“Why should you get to be reborn? The chosen one should’ve been me! It was supposed to be me!”

Watching her unravel, I could only feel a cold amusement.

God really was fair. It gave her a second chance, but not the intelligence to avoid repeating her mistakes.

Vivian still wailed dramatically. “I’m the protagonist! It was my sincerity that moved God and won me this second life!”

“You vicious bitch, you tricked me! You knew Damian was a psychopath, didn’t you? You wanted me to choose him, you wanted me to fall straight into hell!”

“You ruined my entire life! You thief! You stole everything that was meant to be mine!”

I couldn’t help laughing. “You were the one who convinced yourself Damian would give you true love.”

“You were the one who despised Elias’s indifference. You were the one who kept choosing the wrong path.”

“What does any of that have to do with me?”

Every step she took had been her own choice.

She thought being reborn meant she held the script in her hands, that she could seize every advantage and gather every reward.

She never realized she had already lost from the very beginning.

Vivian’s gaze turned vicious. “So what if it was my choice?”

“Aria, now that you’ve fallen into my hands today, don’t even dream about walking out alive.”

“Every bit of suffering I endured in this life, you’re going to repay double.”

She turned and pulled a leather whip from the wall, its barbed edges glinting under the light.

“Damian loves watching people bleed. He says blood is the most beautiful color.”

“Tell me, should I start with your face? Or maybe your legs?”

My body began trembling uncontrollably at the sight of that whip.

The body never forgot pain.

The agony from the previous life surged back instantly, crawling into every bone.

My fingertips turned cold. Even my breathing trembled.

Just as she raised the whip, ready to strike—

The iron door of the basement swung open from the outside.

A man walked in, framed by the light behind him.

Vivian’s entire body stiffened. She turned around, and the madness on her face instantly melted into flattery. “Damian… Damian, why are you here?”

Damian looked the same as before, that refined monster.

His leg had healed.

Last lifetime, when I was nearly tortured to death, he happened to encounter an opportunity for surgery. His leg recovered fully after that.

But once he regained his strength, he became even more violent, even more deranged.

He tortured me until I was barely alive, then force-fed me medicine so I would heal just enough for him to continue.

Vivian had seen him feed me those medicines and mistook it for love, believing he cared for me tenderly.

Damian’s gaze slid past her, fixing directly on me.

Vivian dragged the whip behind her as she hurried to his side, eager to please. “Damian, look what I brought you. A new toy.”

“Her name is Aria. She’s my little sister. She’ll last longer than me, and she fits your preferences better.”

Damian finally spoke, his voice low and hoarse, “Is that so?”

“Since when do you have the right to touch what’s mine?”

Vivian’s smile froze.

The next second, Damian lifted his leg and kicked her square in the chest.

She slammed against the wall and collapsed, unconscious.

Damian walked toward me, step by step.

I tried to move away, but my wrists and ankles were bound. I couldn’t escape.

He crouched down, grabbed my chin, forcing me to look up into his eyes.

He examined my face with sickening satisfaction.

Then, from his pocket, he pulled out a scalpel.

I watched the blade approach my cheek.

Just as the cold metal was about to touch my skin—

The basement door exploded open again with a violent kick.

A figure charged inside, radiating fury so intense it filled the entire room.

“Damian Cross!”

“Take your filthy hands off her!”
