Faked Amnesia, Real Luna Revenge Chapter 03

My voice shook with anger and resentment as I snapped, “Sansa, I’ve told you more than once. Joey is the Alpha. Our mate bond affects the stability of the entire pack.”

“Stop having thoughts you shouldn’t have and stay away from him. Don’t you have even basic morals? You graduated from the Pack Academy. Didn’t your parents teach you how to behave?”

Sansa covered her face and turned to run.

Joey rushed over from the bed and grabbed her. He pulled her halfway into his arms and patted her back gently. His face darkened as he stared at me, his eyes icy.

“Apologize,” he said.

I stared at the man who used to love me, watching him hold another woman in front of me and demand that I apologize to her.

My chest ached sharply.

“Joey, you’re my mate. If you don’t believe me, you can check the records at Pack Hall. Three years ago we…”

“So what?” he cut in.

I was desperate for him to believe me, but the colder his reaction became, the more my heart sank.

Joey looked at me with eyes as sharp as knives and said coldly, “Sansa already told me last night. You’re my Luna, and I only married you for the pack. I never loved you.”

“She’s lying. We chose each other. You pursued me. You said I was the only one you loved…”

“Enough.”

Joey interrupted impatiently, his face full of disgust. “I heard you made me drive out late at night to buy you pizza yesterday, and that’s how I got into the accident. How could I ever like a spoiled, bossy she wolf like you?”

“I like gentle, considerate women, someone like Sansa.”

The room fell into suffocating silence.

I watched Sansa, protected carefully in Joey’s arms. When he was not looking, she gave me a smug little smile.

Then she tugged lightly at his sleeve and said in a trembling voice, “Alpha, maybe I should leave. This isn’t right…”

Joey tightened his arm around her and lowered his head to comfort her. “This isn’t your fault. I can’t live without you.”

The pain in my chest grew sharper.

When Joey looked at me again, all warmth was gone from his eyes. His voice was cold and distant.

“Miss Welch, listen carefully. Even if I hadn’t lost my memory, I could never live with a woman like you. The one I love now is Sansa. Stop bothering me.”

I knew arguing or shouting would change nothing. I swallowed the bitterness in my throat and forced myself to calm down.

Then I remembered something. I lowered my gaze and raised my hand.

“Joey, this is the ring you gave me. It matches the one you’re wearing. It’s the ring for the Sun Pack Luna.”

His dark eyes flickered slightly, so fast it was almost impossible to catch.

“There are engravings inside. Our initials, J and J, and the words ‘my forever lover.’ That was our vow.”

I took the ring off my finger and held it out to him. Joey stared at it in silence, his expression unreadable.

“Joey, you won’t even look at it?” I asked softly.

His face remained calm, carrying an unquestionable authority. He suddenly took the ring off his own hand and tossed it in a clean arc into the trash can beside him.

“This is my answer.”
