I Saved An Amnesiac Werewolf, Then Found A New Loyal Wolf Chapter 03

At seven that evening, I went to The Obsidian Hall.

The hostess barely looked at me.

The moment I handed her the black card, her expression changed, and she immediately escorted me upstairs.

The door to the private room opened.

I stopped in my tracks.

Draven sat at the head of the table.

His black dress shirt was immaculate, the cuffs fastened with perfect precision. His expression was cold and distant—like I was a stranger.

Lilith sat beside him. The moment she saw me, she smiled.

“So you actually came.”

I ignored her and looked at Draven.

“You asked me to.”

He stared at me and said, “Have a seat.”

“If you’ve got something to say, say it.”

The two men in black nearby frowned, as if I’d just insulted him.

“There’s an apartment for you,” he said. “And a cash settlement.”

“Sign the agreement.”

“After today, those three months never happened.”

I didn’t touch the papers.

“What exactly are you saying?”

Lilith leaned back against the sofa, smiling lazily.

“Isn’t it obvious? You took care of Draven, so he’s compensating you.”

“Take the compensation and move on with your life.”

Draven watched me without the slightest change in expression.

“If there’s anything else you want, name it.”

A laugh escaped me.

So every sleepless night really did have a price.

“Draven,” I said, looking him straight in the eye. “You think I spent three months taking care of you just so I could bargain with you today?”

Lilith cut in. “What else would it be?”

“You didn’t seriously think the way he relied on you while he had amnesia meant he had feelings for you, did you?”

I never looked at her. I kept my eyes on Draven.

“You answer.”

Silence settled over the room.

Finally, he spoke, “My wolfbane was unstable back then. I wasn’t thinking clearly.”

He met my gaze, his voice calm enough to be cruel.

“Getting close to you was nothing but instinct.”

“Instinct?”

“Your blood and your scent calmed me down,” he said. “It could’ve been anyone.”

Everything inside me went hollow. A dull ringing filled my ears. Even breathing hurt.

So that was it.

The moments I thought were special. The trust I’d held onto through all those sleepless nights.

To him, it was just instinct. Just medicine.

Lilith’s smile deepened.

“You heard him.”

“To Draven, you were only someone he relied on during a difficult time.”

I looked down at the agreement. Finally, I picked it up.

A flash of triumph crossed Lilith’s face.

The next second, I tore the papers in half.

The room fell dead silent.

“I don’t want your compensation.”

Draven’s eyes darkened.

“Sera. Don’t be difficult.”

I looked up at him, laughing coldly.

“You called me here just to humiliate me. And now I’m the one being difficult?”

Lilith’s expression hardened.

“You ungrateful little—”

“Shut up.” It was the first time I’d cut her off. “I came to hear him. Not you.”

She went still.

I turned back to Draven.

“If you’ve got anything else to say, say it now.”

Lilith let out a quiet laugh, as if she’d been waiting for those words.

“In three days, Draven will attend his Lineage Gala.”

She smiled sweetly, but every word was meant to hurt.

“You’ll be there.”

“In front of everyone, you’ll make it clear that the bond mark was an accident.”

“It has absolutely nothing to do with Draven.”

I frowned. “Why should I?”

“Because as long as you keep that mark, people might get the wrong idea.”

Her smile never faltered.

“Someone like you shouldn’t expect to enter his world so easily.”

I looked at Draven.

He didn’t deny a single word.

In that moment, whatever was left of my hope finally died.
