The moment they heard my name, Mom and the others exchanged stunned looks.
“There has to be some mistake. Clara Morton is the SSS-ranked Golden Wolf.”
William quickly agreed, “You’ve definitely got the wrong person. Madeline didn’t even finish the ranking exam. She might not even have awakened her wolf. There’s no way you came here to recruit her.”
“Let’s check the scores! Once we look them up right here, you’ll see that Clara is the SSS-ranked Golden Wolf.”
Clara hesitated for a moment before speaking, “But… wouldn’t that be unfair to Madeline? She didn’t even finish the exam. If everyone sees her score… My score is so much higher than hers. She’ll definitely be upset.”
She glanced at me, pretending to be concerned.
Mom didn’t think there was anything wrong with it, “It’s fine. Your sister is mentally strong. We’ll check the scores right here and let everyone see how outstanding you are, Clara.”
My heart had already gone numb.
After all, I’d long since lost count of how many times I’d been used as the comparison.
Ever since they started their “make Madeline worse” plan, they had tampered with my alarm clock, abandoned me halfway to school, and deliberately sabotaged my performance.
Every single time, they treated it like a joke while cheering Clara up.
“See? Madeline didn’t do as well as you this time.”
“Clara, you’re the smartest one in this family. Look how much your grades improved once you started feeling better. You’re miles ahead of Madeline now.”
They had never cared whether the things they did or the words they said hurt me.
Just like today. They were about to publicly humiliate me in front of everyone.
Without the slightest hesitation, William waved a waiter over, “Bring me the computer. We’ll check Madeline’s ranking exam results first.”
As he spoke, he quickly entered my information.
The result appeared on the screen.

A wave of murmurs swept through the crowd.
“Rank D? Even someone who performs badly shouldn’t score that low. That’s practically no different from a human.”
“I heard their older daughter used to be brilliant. How did she end up like this? Did she go astray?”
“I think I saw her working at a KTV before. Don’t tell me she…”
Not a single person in my family spoke up for me.
Mom smiled awkwardly at the admissions officers, “I told you, there must have been a mistake. With grades like Madeline’s, there’s no way you came here for her. You should take another look at Clara. She’s the student you’re looking for.”
As she spoke, she gently pushed Clara toward the admissions officers.
Thomas stepped forward with a smug smile, “Go ahead and check Clara’s ranking. Let’s give everyone here a real surprise.”
William laughed and nodded before entering Clara’s information.
The entire banquet hall fell silent. Everyone held their breath as they waited for the system to refresh.
Then the result appeared.
