After Three Years as a Deranged Alpha’s Sedative, I Faked My Death Chapter 05

After Three Years as a Deranged Alpha’s Sedative, I Faked My Death Chapter 05

The moment I turned away, I almost burst out

laughing.

Perfect.

With an onthejob injury, public humiliation, and emotional distress caused by Selena’s return, my compensation should come to at least three

million dollars.

The next morning, I met Mrs. Black in my hospital

room.

She wore a sharply tailored dark red suit and

placed a cashier’s check on the table beside my

bed.

Three million dollars.”

Her voice was cold and completely devoid of

warmth.

Selena is back, and Adrian is more stable now. He

doesn’t need you anymore. You’ve done well over

the past three years, and this is the final payment

you’re owed.”

I stared at the check and immediately began

calculating my total assets.

Three million dollars.

Added to the salary and compensation I had

saved over the past three years, it was enough for me to retire for good.

Don’t worry.”

Using my left hand, I carefully slipped the check beneath my pillow and looked at her seriously.

Once I take this money, I’ll keep my end of the

deal. Starting today, I’ll disappear completely and

never cause Adrian or Selena any trouble again.”

Mrs. Black nodded in satisfaction.

You’d better never show your face again. If I catch.

you trying to contact him behind my back”

You have my word. I’ll leave New York tonight.”

As soon as she left, I pulled the IV needle from my arm and began carrying out my plan to fake my death.

Simply taking the money and leaving was not safe

enough.

If Adrian’s wolf lost control again and he came

looking for me to put me back to work, Mrs. Black might demand the money back.

Even worse, the Pack Council might decide to

silence me permanently to protect the heir’s

reputation.

Only if everyone truly believed I was dead would they stop looking for me.

Besides, I had endured far too much humiliation

over the past three years, and at the very least, I wanted that arrogant Alpha heir to remember that

his actions had consequences.

Through an identity broker, I obtained a complete

set of documents under a new name.

Then I bought a secondhand Ford sedan that was

nearly ready for the scrapyard.

That night, New York was hit by an unusually

violent rainstorm.

I drove the car, whose brakes had been tampered

with, onto the George Washington Bridge.

In the violent rain and powerful winds, I wrenched the steering wheel and sent the car smashing through the guardrail until half the vehicle hung

over the Hudson River.

I took off the coat stained with my own blood and

draped it over the driver’s seatback.

Then I smashed the phone containing recordings

of Adrian humiliating me and tossed it onto the

passenger seat.

Once everything was ready, I pulled the folding

bike from the trunk and pedaled away across the

bridge under cover of the storm and darkness.
