Missing for Twenty Years, I Found My Mafia Father in a Nightclub Chapter 07
“I didn’t say I’d never forgive you,” I said softly.Â
“I just need some time.”Â
Vincent nodded and wiped his tears away with theÂ
back of his hand.Â
“All right. Dad will wait. I’ve already waited twentyÂ
years. A few more days won’t matter.”Â
He tried to smile at me.Â
“Little Star, I won’t lose you again. Never again.”Â
The hospital room door suddenly flew open.Â
Bianca stood in the doorway, fury written acrossÂ
her face.Â
“Dad, why haven’t you gone back to the estate yet?”Â
She stormed inside and pointed at me.Â
“What did this low–class woman do to you? You’veÂ
even abandoned Family business because of her!”Â
“Shut up, Bianca!”Â
Vincent shot to his feet, his voice low and ice–cold.Â
She froze and stared at him in disbelief.Â
“You’ve never spoken to me like that before.”Â
“She is my daughter.” Vincent said, pointing at me.Â
“My biological daughter. The child I spent twentyÂ
years searching for.”Â
All the color drained from Bianca’s face.Â
She looked from Vincent to me, clearly unable toÂ
accept the truth.Â
“That’s impossible.”Â
She kept shaking her head, and her voice began toÂ
tremble.Â
“She’s nothing but a club hostess. She has noÂ
education and no background! A woman like herÂ
would tell any lie to force her way into the MorettiÂ
Family. She must have bribed the hospital to fakeÂ
the DNA test.”Â
“I personally supervised the entire process.”Â
Vincent cut in, his tone unwavering.Â
“My advisers and doctors guarded the bloodÂ
samples together, and every step of the testing.Â
process was documented.”Â
Bianca opened her mouth, but no words came out.Â
and her hands tightened into fists.Â
A few seconds later, her voice suddenly softened.Â
“Dad, you haven’t been home for three days. I was alone at the estate, and I was scared. There was thunder outside, and I couldn’t sleep. I called you,Â
but you didn’t answer.”Â
She reached for Vincent’s arm the way she alwaysÂ
did, but he sidestepped her.Â
“Bianca, go back for now. We’ll discuss everythingÂ
else when I return.”Â
“I’m not going back!”Â
She immediately burst into tears.Â
“Now that you’ve found your biological daughter, are you planning to throw me away? I’m the one who stayed by your side all these years. I attendedÂ
the Family dinners. I hosted your capos for you.Â
What has she ever done? Why should she getÂ
everything that comes with the Moretti name theÂ
moment she appears?”Â
“Bianca!”Â
Vincent raised his voice, his brow furrowed.Â
“She’s my daughter, not some outsider who cameÂ
here to compete with you for status.”Â
Bianca cried even harder.Â
But when she looked at me, there was no hurt inÂ
her eyes, only resentment at the thought of losingÂ
her position.Â
“Fine. I’ll leave. It was never really my homeÂ
anyway.”Â
She turned and walked out of the hospital room.Â
Vincent took one step after her, then looked backÂ
at me.Â
“Little Star, I’m going to make everything clear toÂ
her.”Â
I nodded and looked away.Â
The room fell silent again.Â
Mia sent me a message.Â
“I heard you found your biological father. Is heÂ
really the Don of the Moretti Family?”Â
I typed and deleted my reply several times beforeÂ
finally sending one word.Â
“Yes.”Â
She replied almost immediately.Â
“Bianca must be losing her mind. I still rememberÂ
how she used her status as Miss Moretti to slap youÂ
that night. I’ll make sure everyone hears aboutÂ
everything she’s done.”Â
“No.”Â
I slowly typed another line.Â
“I’ll deal with it myself.”Â
I closed my eyes.Â
I had spent twenty years searching for my fatherÂ
and hoping I would truly find him one day.Â
But now, he had already spent years being a fatherÂ
to another girl.Â
If he had forgotten me completely, perhaps I couldÂ
at least have accepted that I had lost my fatherÂ
forever.Â
But he said he had brought Bianca home becauseÂ
missing me had become unbearable.Â
That left me with no idea who I was supposed toÂ
hate.
