The Christmas Prank That Ended Us Chapter 06

The Christmas Prank That Ended Us Chapter 06

There was a long silence on the other end of the phone.

My words, “I had already severed our mate bond on my own,” completely shattered all of Garrett’s expectations.

He couldn’t believe that the woman who had always obeyed him and tolerated everything without complaint could cut off all ties so decisively.

A few seconds later, he let out a cold laugh, his voice filled with arrogance.

“Fine. If you want to leave, then leave. I won’t stop you. But I’m telling you now, Jasmine, sooner or later, you’ll regret this.”

“When you can’t survive in Santorini, when you’re all alone with no one to rely on, you’ll come back to me crying. I’ll wait for that day.”

After saying that, he hung up directly.

I didn’t hesitate either.

I deleted every photo of my family and Garrett from my phone. Then I carried my luggage out of the airport.

The onboarding process and housing arrangements went smoothly.

After moving into my new apartment, I finally settled down completely.

For the next ten years, I would live, work, and build my life in Santorini.

It would be enough time for me to completely escape the shadows of

my past and create a new life of my own.

However, after tossing and turning for a while, I realized I couldn’t fall asleep at all.

I had slept through most of the afternoon on the plane, leaving me wide awake in the middle of the night.

Suddenly, my phone screen lit up.

It was a message from Imogen, a former coworker who had been invited to my engagement party.

Attached was a video from the event.

Imogen had seen my swollen, bruised eyes after Serena’s pranks.

She also knew I had ended up in the pack hospital because of Serena’s so-called games.

So when she sent the message, she couldn’t hide her excitement.

“Jasmine, you were incredible. You really did it.”

“Today’s engagement party disaster was absolutely unforgettable!”

I opened the video.

The recording from the USB drive played clearly through my phone.

It was a conversation I had secretly recorded one month earlier.

That night, I had gotten up for water and overheard my parents talking in their bedroom.

At the time, my mother had just watched the prank compilation

Serena edited.

She sounded hesitant.

“That day is Jasmine’s engagement party. Are we really going to let Serena do whatever she wants?”

My father let out a heavy sigh.

“What else can we do? If I hadn’t abandoned Serena’s father in that fire years ago, we wouldn’t have adopted her. Every time I see Serena’s face, I feel guilty.”

“Forget letting her prank Jasmine. If she insisted on becoming Alpha Garrett’s Luna, I would even find a way to drug them and make them spend one night together.”

“Besides, Serena has liked Garrett for more than a day or two. This engagement doesn’t have to happen.”

The entire venue fell silent. Every guest stared at the huge screen.

The moment the recording played, my parents completely lost control.

They could no longer maintain their usual dignity and composure.

Their faces turned pale as they rushed toward the equipment.

Their hands frantically searched for the USB drive while they screamed for someone to remove it.

Serena stood frozen nearby.

The arrogance and confidence she always carried were completely

gone.

Her face was pale, and her entire body trembled.

She couldn’t believe that she wasn’t actually my parents’ biological daughter.

What broke her even more was learning that her biological father had indirectly died because of the very man who had spoiled her for more than twenty years.

Unable to accept the truth, Serena turned toward the watching relatives and screamed.

“Don’t listen! Don’t record anything! This is fake! Jasmine is deliberately trying to ruin me! Ruin us!”

But the harder she tried to hide it, the more believable it became in everyone’s eyes.

The relatives looked at one another.

Disgusted and shocked expressions slowly appeared on their faces as they looked at my family.

Standing at the side, Garrett’s entire face had darkened.

The way he looked at my parents and Serena was no longer familiar.

Especially when he heard the part about drugging him, it was as if he had finally seen the true faces of this family for the first time.

I quietly watched the entire video.

There was no satisfaction from revenge.

There was no sympathy. There was no hesitation.

Because the humiliation and shame they were experiencing at that moment, whether physical or emotional, were not even one ten-thousandth of the pain I had once endured.
