Marriage Lottery: Heaven Sign Or Hell Ticket Chapter 04

The next few days passed in absolute comfort.

I slept until I naturally woke, spent my time swiping Elias’s black card, and visited every luxury boutique in Northcrest.

Meanwhile, Vivian’s Ig posts grew increasingly bizarre.

[Damian gets jealous so easily, it’s adorable. He just smashed my new car. A man who truly loves you is always possessive.]

[Because I spoke to a waiter, Damian made me apologize all night. I know this is just his unique way of loving me.]

I felt disgusted just reading it, so I blocked her.

Until the day I went to a private club for a spa session and ran right into her.

Vivian was sitting with several socialites.

The moment she saw me, she strutted over with an air of provocation.

“Well, well, isn’t this my widowed little sister? Finished praying at the family chapel today?”

“You’re so lucky. Unlike me, I barely survived last night. Damian wore me out completely. My legs are still shaking.”

I couldn’t be bothered to argue. I signaled the manager and handed over my black card.

He immediately greeted me with utmost respect. “Mrs. Whitmore, there’s no need to pay. This club is owned by the Whitmore family. You’re welcome anytime and everything will be taken care of.”

Vivian’s expression twisted with resentment.

She married Damian and appeared glamorous on the surface, but Damian had long been stripped of power. Every cent she spent still came from her own pocket.

But I was the rightful Mrs. Whitmore.

The socialites’ gazes toward her changed instantly.

“So it was that Damian Cross, the cripple kicked out of his own family?”

“I thought she was loaded. Turns out she’s just putting on a show.”

Vivian pointed at me, shaking with rage, “Aria, what are you so smug about? You’re nothing but a stand-in, a tool they’re using to keep someone else alive!”

“Why do you think Elias married you? Because you slightly resemble her true love! Once they’ve drained you dry, the Whitmore family will toss you out like trash!”

She lunged forward to slap me, but security rushed in and dragged her out.

That night, just after I finished showering, I stared in disbelief at Vivian sitting in the living room.

I frowned. “How did you get in here?”

There was no way the Whitmore Estate’s security system would let someone slip in this easily.

“I told them I was from your family, bringing emergency medicine for you. They let me through.”

Vivian smiled darkly and pulled out a syringe, waving it lightly.

I stepped back. “What are you trying to do?”

But she walked toward me step by step. “I can’t wait anymore. I can’t wait to see you freeze to death on that mountain. I’m going to kill you right now.”

“Why do you get to enjoy luxury without lifting a finger, while I’m tortured by that cripple? How is that fair?”

She threw herself at me like a lunatic.

I dodged, and the self-defense skills I had learned in my last life under Damian’s violence finally came in handy.

But Vivian fought like she had nothing left to lose. Even as I twisted her arm until it nearly dislocated, she drove the syringe hard into my neck.

A sharp pain shot through me as the liquid rushed into my body.

Instantly, my limbs went numb.

Vivian dragged my limp body toward the stairs.

“Aria, it’s time you tasted the pain I suffered. But don’t worry, I’ll make sure you die with clarity. I want you to see exactly who you’re dying for.”

She dragged me up to the third floor—the one forbidden to everyone.

Then she kicked open the study door and shoved me inside. “Go to hell, Aria! Let’s see if Elias keeps you around after you trespassed into his sacred space!”

My numb body slumped on the floor. I lifted my head.

And both Vivian and I froze at what we saw.

The next second, an enraged voice thundered across the room, “How dare you come in?”
