Forty-Nine Days of His Fake Amnesia Chapter 06
The footage played in Moonlight Medical’s conference room.
Evan sat in front of the projector. The whistle in his palm. Blood dripped from where the cracked metal bit into his skin.
The video started before the brake failure.
I was in the driver’s seat. Kept glancing at him in the passenger seat.
He had his eyes closed. Playing headache.
I asked softly, “Evan, you okay? Don’t worry. We’re almost at Highpine Hot Springs Lodge.”
The Evan on screen didn’t answer.
The comments rolled beside the video.
[She really thinks Alpha Evan lost his memory. Hilarious.]
[Forty-nine days of nursemaid duty. She thinks she’s touching, huh?]
Evan’s face was ghost-white.
On screen, the car lost control.
The guardrail snapped. A real rebar flew at us.
I didn’t hesitate. I unbuckled Evan. Shoved him down.
“Head down!”
The rebar punched through the windshield.
Blood sprayed the lens.
Evan shot up. Knocked his chair over.
“Stop it!” he screamed.
The enforcer looked at him coldly.
“The rest is key evidence. We don’t stop.”
The footage rolled on.
I was trapped in the seat. Trembling. Reaching for Evan’s face.
“Are you hurt?”
The Evan on screen opened his eyes.
Clear. Sharp. No amnesia.
He shoved my hand away. “Still acting?”
I froze.
He opened the door. Got out smooth.
Someone handed him a towel. Someone else pulled off his prop sensors.
Felix grinned. “Alpha Evan. That was gold. She really thought you were dying.”
Evan took the towel. Wiped blood off his hand.
“Don’t cut the shot. Let her watch.”
Mira ran up. Hugged him.
“Sweetie, I was so scared.”
Evan patted her back.
“Scared of what? She still owes you.”
Silence in the conference room.
I saw Evan’s knuckles go white.
On screen, I was still in the car.
Watching him hold Mira. My lips moved. Like I finally got it.
The young healer actor rushed in with oxygen.
“She’s hurt bad. That’s real blood. Not a pack.”
Felix hissed, “Alpha Evan didn’t call it.”
“But she’ll die!”
Evan’s voice came from off-screen.
“Naomi always milks things. She needs pain before she learns her place.”
In the conference room, Evan covered his mouth.
His shoulders shook.
The enforcer paused the video.
Froze on the moment I pulled out my oxygen tube.
No hate in my eyes. Just exhaustion.
Evan stared. His voice shattered.
“She was still alive then?”
“Yes.”
“If you’d rescued her immediately?”
“She could have been saved.”
The words cut into him like knives.
He burst out of the room. Grabbed Felix.
“Who told you to stop the rescue?”
Felix went limp with fear.
“You did, Alpha Evan. Contract said punishment comes first. Miss Bellamy specially said—Luna Naomi absolutely cannot get out.”
Evan’s eyes were bloody red.
“What exactly did she say?”
Felix stammered. “She said Luna Naomi’s worst fear is being abandoned. Film enough of her watching you drive away.”
Heels clicked at the door.
Mira stood there. Pale.
“Sweetie. They’re lying. I just wanted Naomi to understand she can’t keep bullying me.”
Evan turned slowly.
He looked at her. His voice hit absolute zero.
“Bring me the ledger. Of those ninety-nine grievances.”
