After I Became Pretty Chapter 06
Everyone exchanged confused glances.
“Wait… Elara? The one from Lit department who looked like a blimp?”
“That’s not her. I’ve seen her before.”
“She doesn’t look anything like that.”
Seren’s mouth hung open as she scanned me head to toe.
She even pulled out my old photos, comparing them side by side.
“No. That’s not Elara.”
“You’ve never even seen her real face. That’s not her.”
Dorian’s face went dark. “You’re saying I don’t recognize my own girlfriend?”
He lifted my hand to show the engraving inside the bracelet.
“Look—my initials. Hers. I gave her this.”
“You think I’d mistake her for someone else?”
Then, just to be sure, he turned to me.
“I’m not wrong, am I? You’re my Elara, right?”
I gave a small nod. “Do you want me to show you my student ID?”
“No need. I knew it!”
While Dorian beamed, I turned to Seren—her face pale.
—
“Seren, you’re something else.”
“I was a few minutes late, and you couldn’t wait to jump in and steal my boyfriend.”
She froze.
The comments were just as stunned.
[Wait… that’s Elara? The girl with the slim figure and sharp features?]
[The fat side character actually pulled off the glow-up. She was supposed to be average-looking… how is she this gorgeous?]
[Seren trying to steal Dorian right in front of her… this is so awkward.]
[What’s Dorian going to think of Seren now? Is there still a chance for them?]
Phones came out.
Someone called a friend.
“Get over here. You won’t believe who this girl is.”
Dorian ignored the whispers.
His eyes stayed locked on me, like he couldn’t get enough.
“Elara, you’re even more beautiful than your photos.”
“I’m starting to feel insecure—you’re making me nervous.”
He glared at the onlookers, half tempted to cover me with his jacket.
Seeing me smile, he pouted like a child.
—
“And Seren—she tried to trick me with fake photos.”
“Said you were fat and ugly. I almost fell for it.”
“But you showed up. Wait here—I’ll get back at her for you.”
Seren exploded.
“I wasn’t lying!”
“She used to look exactly like that!”
“She tricked you first. She was a 200-pound pig!”
“Ask anyone here if you don’t believe me.”
I’d already seen this coming.
Seren was definitely going to bring up my past.
Just as Dorian opened his mouth to argue, I tugged his sleeve and said quietly:
“What if I told you… that 200-pound version of me really was who I used to be?”
Dorian’s face went pale.
