Faked Amnesia, Real Luna Revenge Chapter 10
It finally hit Joey when he saw my arm wrapped around Declan’s, and Declan showed no intention of avoiding it. Anger surged up as he grabbed me and yanked me toward him.
“Do you not even recognize what your mate looks like anymore?”
“Who are you? Don’t touch me. Be careful, or I’ll report you for sexual harassment.”
I struggled, trying to break free.
Joey’s grip was too strong. I couldn’t get loose and had to cry out, “Honey, he’s bullying me. Come help me.”
“Misty, what the hell are you playing at?” Joey yelled.
“She lost her memory,” Declan said calmly.
Joey’s anger stopped abruptly. “What did you say?”
Declan walked over, pried Joey’s hand off me, and pulled me to his side. He said coldly, “She was in a car accident. She hit her head and forgot everything from before.”
Joey frowned. “You’re acting. All of you.”
“You think I have time to put on a show like this?” Declan replied.
Joey looked at Declan’s composed, aloof expression. This was Declan. He would never bother playing along with something like this.
“Honey, is this your friend?” I asked, looking up at him in confusion.
Declan touched my head. “More or less.”
—
“He keeps touching me. I don’t like him. Baby, can we go home now?”
Declan nodded, took my hand, grabbed my bag from the booth, and led me away.
Joey tried to chase after us, but Sansa hurriedly stopped him.
…
On the way back, my phone rang. I answered it right in front of Declan.
The moment the call connected, Joey’s furious voice came through. “Misty, are you pretending? Sansa told me everything. You didn’t lose your memory at all. You’re doing this on purpose.”
Declan pulled the car over and took the phone from my hand. “Joey, if you have something to say, say it to me. Stop harassing her.”
“She’s my mate. What the hell do you mean, Declan?” Joey shouted.
“We’ll talk later.”
Declan hung up and blocked the number. After dropping me off, Declan went out again.
…
At the Starcrest Club, Joey drank while telling Louis about how close Declan and I had been acting.
Only then did Louis realize that the soft, delicate voice he had heard on the phone before really had been mine.
They couldn’t understand how I had gotten involved with Declan.
—
At that moment, the private room door was pushed open. Declan walked in leisurely.
Joey slammed his glass down and stormed over, grabbing Declan by the collar. “Did you sleep with Misty?”
The image of the marks on my neck drove him nearly mad, even though Declan was a stronger Alpha.
“Joey, calm down. There has to be a misunderstanding,” Louis said.
“A misunderstanding? He was touching Misty right in front of me.”
“She lost her memory,” Declan said again.
Deep down, Joey also felt that I hadn’t betrayed him. He had already marked me, and his mate bond hadn’t reacted with pain or turmoil.
What he didn’t know was that our mate bond had already broken that night.
He knew how much I loved him, and he didn’t fully believe what Sansa said either. He preferred to believe that I had lost my memory. If I hadn’t, I would never have gotten close to another man.
“When did it happen?” Joey asked.
“A month ago. At the pack hospital. You can check.”
Joey suddenly remembered that over the past month, whenever they called Declan, he rarely showed up.
So he had been with Misty.
“You took advantage of her memory loss and slept with her?” Joey
—
snarled.
His teeth clenched as he swung his fist.
Declan didn’t dodge. The punch landed squarely on his face.
