Faked Amnesia, Real Luna Revenge Chapter 14
Joey’s eyes turned red as he snapped, “So you slept with Declan just to get back at me?”
I nodded. “More or less. I went to Gold Crown that night and heard everything you said to Louis. You said I bored you. You said younger she-wolves were better in bed, more exciting, with more tricks, and that I couldn’t compare.”
Joey had been furious, but the moment he heard that, it was like all the air drained out of him.
He looked at me in pain. “It was my fault. I hurt you.”
“Yes,” I said calmly. “You did hurt me.”
“Can you give me another chance?” His eyes were full of pleading.
I stayed silent for a moment, then shook my head. “No.”
I looked at the way his expression shattered and finally told him the truth. “Joey, I don’t love you anymore.”
…
I wanted to break the mate bond. Joey kept dragging it out, refusing to agree.
So I sent him that video from my phone. I told him there was no way I could ever pretend none of this had happened.
Every second I spent with him made me feel sick.
When Joey saw the video, his eyes filled with tears. I stopped locking
—
my wolf away, but Mina had already abandoned him long ago, on the day he cheated.
…
In the end, Joey and I went to Pack Hall and applied for a Bond Break Agreement.
Declan came to see me from time to time.
I originally wanted to draw a clear line between us, but I soon realized that even Mina was mating with Declan’s wolf. In fact, my wolf bonded with his more often than I did.
I could no longer lie to myself. I felt an intense desire for Declan.
So for a while, we were basically friends with benefits. Unexpectedly, I got pregnant.
We ended up with two pups.
Fine. Friends with benefits upgraded. We teamed up to raise the kids together.
Life went on like that.
…
Joey’s POV
After breaking the mate bond with Misty, I didn’t marry Sansa.
I hated her. I hated her for sending the video of us to Misty.
For forcing Misty to witness my betrayal, my filth, my disgrace. But what I hated even more was myself.
—
Like Louis said, the idea may have come from him, but he never forced me to cheat. Ending up like this with Misty was my own doing.
I couldn’t control myself. I lied to Misty.
I deserved everything that happened. I gave Sansa two options.
If she insisted on keeping the pup, I would pay the minimum monthly support required by pack law. She was not to expect anything else. I would never allow her to become Luna.
I loved Misty and only Misty. Even if I died, my assets would go only to my mother and the woman I loved.
The she-wolf who had cried, screamed, and even threatened to jump off a building to force my hand chose the second option without hesitation.
She terminated the pregnancy, took two million dollars, and disappeared from my life.
See? That was the woman who claimed she loved me, who said she couldn’t live without me.
How fake. That was when I finally admitted the truth to myself.
I still loved Misty. So I decided to win her back.
I believed Declan would never give her the title of Luna. His family was far too noble, far too rigid.
I thought that if I created more chances to “run into her,” time would heal everything, and eventually we could put the broken mirror back together.
—
But I never imagined that a year later, Declan would propose to Misty.
And that she would give birth to twins. On my mother’s birthday,
Misty came with Declan and the children for dinner.
Anne didn’t want to see me, but I still came.
Selfishly, I hoped Misty wasn’t happy. If she wasn’t, then even with
two children, I would still be willing to accept her.
I would raise her children as my own. But Declan never gave me that
chance.
Throughout the meal, Misty never once looked at me.
Her eyes held only her current mate and her children. The smile at her
lips was gentle, radiant, and unbearably painful to look at.
It made me realize with brutal clarity that I had lost her forever. I
started coming home early every day.
The house was empty, silent, and dead.
I lay alone on the bed we once shared. When Misty left, she threw
away everything from our past, but I found ways to retrieve it all.
Her image constantly surfaced in my mind. What was she doing now?
If I hadn’t cheated, Misty and I would be happy. I picked up a fruit
knife and slashed my wrist hard.
Blood poured out instantly, dripping onto the floor. I leaned against
the couch and waited quietly for death to arrive.
As my consciousness blurred, I remembered swearing to the Moon
—
Goddess long ago.
“I only love Misty. Without her, I’ll die.”
“Misty, I’m not lying to you. Without you, I really will die.”
