From Clingy to Independent- He Thought I Needed Him Until He Realized I Didn’t Chapter 14
A snowflake landed on my lashes, and the chill made me blink.
All at once, I remembered that the day Cameron
had rushed back from his business trip had been
snowy too.
In the conference room, he had said, “You really did forget me completely.”
I stopped short and turned to look at him,
uncertainty creeping into my voice.
“You were my pretend husband back then?”
Cameron let out an amused little “Mm–hm,” a
smile tugging at his brows.
“So you finally remembered?”
That day years ago had been snowy too.
My friends and I had been playing house in the
park.
No one wanted to be my husband, so I grabbed the boy who had been playing in the snow nearby
and made him take the part.
And somehow, after all those twists and turns, we
had found each other again.
Cameron looked at me, his gaze warm and intent.
“You still haven’t answered that question.”
I lifted our joined hands, fingers laced together,
and smiled.
“This is your answer.”
