My Best Friend’s Perfect Boyfriend Was My Alpha Fiancé Chapter 03

Jonathan rushed into the Royal Warrior Camp with a face full of joy, pulling Victoria into his arms. His expression was filled with uncontrollable excitement and happiness.

Only after a while did he notice that I was sitting nearby. A guilty look flashed across his face as he walked over and held my hand.

“Hazel, Victoria is pregnant. Given what happened just now, if I hadn’t saved her, both she and the baby would have been in danger.”

As soon as he finished speaking, two warriors walked past, talking quietly.

“Did you hear? A girl at the bar was just assaulted by a group of men. She was taken away by our colleagues a moment ago…”

Jonathan’s expression changed instantly. He held Victoria tighter and turned to look at me.

“Did you hear that? If I hadn’t arrived in time, Victoria would have been the one going through that. You’re a woman too. You should understand.”

Watching him carefully protect another woman, my wolf let out a sorrowful laugh.

I looked at him expressionlessly, my voice hoarse.

“Jonathan, what if I told you that the person who was assaulted was me?”

The air seemed to freeze instantly.

Jonathan froze for a moment. Then his brows furrowed, and unmistakable impatience appeared in his eyes.

“That’s enough, Hazel!”

“I know Victoria’s pregnancy is upsetting you, but just because you’re angry, you’re actually making up something like this and putting it on yourself? You’re being completely unreasonable!”

I looked at him as he said such cruel words to me for another woman.

I couldn’t take it anymore.

I turned around and ran away.

Yet my mind uncontrollably replayed all the memories between Victoria and me.

My parents had passed away when I was young, and I had long considered her my only family in this world.

Once, when I was surrounded by a rogue, she stood in front of me. Even when her back was torn open with a wound so deep that her bones were visible, she refused to take a single step back.

That day, I held her blood-covered body and cried until I almost fainted.

Yet she still smiled and comforted me.

“Anyone who wants to hurt Hazel will have to step over my dead body first.”

But now, the person who once would have given up her life for me was carrying my mate’s child.

A strong gust of wind hit my face. Before I realized it, I had walked to the edge of the rooftop.

“Hazel!”

Victoria’s panicked voice came from behind me.

She grabbed me and pulled me back immediately, her eyes turning red with anxiety.

“Are you stupid? You’re trying to die over a man who can’t even control his lower half?”

I looked at her.

My heart felt like it was being torn apart, but I couldn’t say a single word.

Victoria took out a cigarette, lit it, and inhaled deeply.

Then she looked into my eyes with a seriousness I had never seen before.

“Don’t worry. As long as you don’t agree, I will never give birth to this child. I told you before, no one except me is allowed to make you suffer.”

Seeing that I remained silent, Victoria threw the cigarette away.

Without hesitation, she bent down, picked up a steel pipe from the side, and swung it toward her own stomach.

There was a loud bang.

Victoria’s face instantly turned pale as she clutched her stomach and collapsed onto her knees.

“Victoria!”

The rooftop door was kicked open.

Jonathan immediately saw Victoria lying in a pool of blood and the bloodstained steel pipe beside me.

His eyes turned crimson as he rushed over, grabbed me by the throat, and lifted me into the air. Then he threw me aside, “Hazel, how dare you hurt her!”

I hit the ground heavily. A tearing pain exploded in my lower abdomen.

He didn’t even ask what happened. He had already decided that I was the one who hurt Victoria.

He was even willing to try to kill me for her.

The pain was so intense that every breath carried the taste of blood.

Using the last bit of my strength, I whispered: “Jonathan, the engagement is over. Let’s break our mate bond.”

Jonathan carefully lifted Victoria into his arms. His gaze toward me was filled with rage.

“Stop using our mate bond to threaten me. I don’t have time to play games with you!”

“This time, I mean it…”

Before I could finish, Victoria passed out. Jonathan left while holding her like a madman.

From beginning to end, he never looked back at me.

I curled up on the ground like a dying fish. A large pool of shocking red slowly spread beneath me.

That was the child we had both been longing for over the past three years.

The child I never got the chance to tell him about.
