My Best Friend’s Perfect Boyfriend Was My Alpha Fiancé Chapter 04

My Best Friend’s Perfect Boyfriend Was My Alpha Fiancé Chapter 04

I stared blankly at the ceiling of the pack hospital.

Jonathan sat beside my bed, holding my cold hand with a face full of guilt.

“Hazel, the baby… we can have another one in the future.”

My gaze moved past Victoria, who was sitting nearby with red-rimmed eyes, and landed on him.

My voice was as light as a breeze, “Jonathan, this is the second child we’ve lost.”

Jonathan froze instantly.

Three years ago, during a snowstorm, Victoria had first dragged me into the instant reply challenge to test her boyfriend.

Ten minutes later, a Maybach stopped by the roadside and picked Victoria up. I was left alone in that snowstorm.

I called Jonathan dozens of times, but every single call went unanswered.

In the end, I lost consciousness in the freezing snow at temperatures below zero.

When I woke up again, I still didn’t even know I was pregnant. And I had already lost the baby.

And now, Jonathan had once again killed our child with his own hands because of my best friend.

The two people in front of me clearly remembered that snowstorm too.

Deep guilt filled their eyes.

Victoria’s eyes turned red as she crazily punched her own stomach, “Hazel, it’s all my fault. I’ll give you my life. I’ll atone for what I did!”

Jonathan’s expression changed instantly. He pulled her into his arms, kissed away her tears, and kept repeating, “It’s not your fault. It’s not your fault.”

Watching this tragic love scene unfold in front of me, I realized I could no longer feel even the slightest bit of emotion.

I pulled out the IV needle and turned to leave the hospital room.

After returning to the pack house, I calmly began packing my belongings.

I took out the wedding dress hidden deep inside my closet.

I had spent countless sleepless nights making it with every stitch and thread, and now I prepared to throw it into the trash.

At that moment, the door opened.

Jonathan looked at the wedding dress on the bed, and the guilt in his eyes grew even stronger.

“Hazel, I know you’re afraid Victoria’s child will affect your position in the pack.”

“Don’t worry. The position of Luna will always belong to you. No matter who gives birth to the child, the mother will only be you.”

As he spoke, he reached out to hug me. I stepped aside and avoided him.

Jonathan’s hand froze in midair.

He took a deep breath and patiently tried to comfort me.

“I promise you, we’ll hold the marking ceremony tomorrow. After the wedding, I’ll take you to Norway to see the aurora. That should be enough to make you stop being angry, right?”

The wedding. The aurora. Those were promises I once dreamed of hearing.

I never imagined that when I finally received them, they would no longer stir even the slightest emotion inside me.

At that moment, my phone lit up with a message from the werewolf court.

[Gamma Hazel Ashton, all three suspects in the assault case have been captured. The trial is scheduled for tomorrow at 10 a.m. Please appear in court on time.]

[According to their statements, there may have been someone else behind the incident.]

Before I could say anything, a familiar urgent ringtone interrupted me.

Jonathan answered immediately.

While grabbing his coat, he hurried toward the door.

“Victoria’s stomach hurts. I need to take her to the pack doctor for a prenatal checkup first. Rest well in the pack house. I’ll come pick you up tomorrow morning.”

The door closed.

The words “My trial starts tomorrow” remained stuck in my throat.

I smiled bitterly and packed the case documents, placing them neatly on the cabinet by the entrance of the pack house.

The next morning, the wedding procession arrived at the pack house in grand fashion.

Jonathan stood at the front door in a suit, his face glowing with happiness.

He entered my birthday as the password.

“Incorrect password.”

The smile on Jonathan’s face froze. A strange feeling of panic suddenly rose in his heart.

Beside him, Victoria laughed teasingly.

“The bride must have changed the password on purpose to block the door. If Alpha wants to marry Hazel, it won’t be that easy!”

Jonathan forced himself to suppress the uneasiness in his heart and slammed his shoulder against the door.

The door burst open. His eyes fell on the cabinet by the entrance.

His entire body froze.

Behind him, two Royal Warriors suddenly walked forward.

They looked at Victoria and spoke coldly.

“Victoria Winslow, you are summoned to the Werewolf Court. Please come with us.”
