The Broken Luna’s New Pack Chapter 02

The Broken Luna’s New Pack Chapter 02

My mother and Tobias’s expressions changed instantly.

“Willow, what do you mean?”

I didn’t explain. I simply stepped aside and let the Royal Warriors behind me walk in.

“Tobias Benson? Gamma of the Newmoon Pack? We suspect you were involved in a serious traffic accident two years ago. In the name of the power granted by the Alpha King, we need to take you in for investigation.”

“This is the informant, Willow Benson,” the Royal Warrior said, glancing at me. “The surveillance footage was provided by your younger sister.”

The two of them froze in place.

When they finally reacted, my mother rushed forward and slapped me across the face.

“Willow, are you insane?! That’s your own brother! How could you report him and have the Royal Warriors sent by the Alpha King come to arrest him?!”

My face turned to the side from the impact, but the pain I felt came from my chest instead.

My own brother?

“Your so-called my own brother was the one who tampered with my brakes and didn’t care whether I lived or died?”

I laughed with tears burning in my eyes, “And my father, that drunk lunatic. Are you sure you weren’t the ones who sent him to the Werewolf Court?”

The answer I received was only silence, along with the guilt that flashed across Tobias’s face.

“I was the one who was actually your family. Why did you do this to me?”

I looked at them in disappointment.

Twelve years ago, when my alcoholic father abused me, they had abandoned me and left without hesitation.

Twelve years later, when I was hurt again, they still chose to stand on the side of the people who harmed me.

My mother avoided my eyes and stammered, “Rosalie called me her godmother for years. She came to beg me. What else could I have done?”

“As for Alpha Damian, isn’t that your own fault? You only cared about your warrior duties every single day. If you were as sweet, thoughtful, and caring as Rosalie, would he have left you?”

My heart completely turned cold.

Back then, when Rosalie stole my defense strategy and we got into an argument, she lost control and stabbed my right hand with a silver dagger.

The day my blood covered the floor, my mother had declared on the spot that she was cutting ties with Rosalie, her goddaughter.

Tobias, who was a lawyer, had also taken Rosalie to court without showing any mercy.

Even Damian, who had always been calm and composed, had lost his temper for the first time. He gathered the entire pack overnight and held a pack meeting, then exiled Rosalie from the pack in front of everyone.

Out of revenge, Rosalie deliberately took Popcorn, the hunting dog my grandfather had left me, when she left the pack.

For two years, I thought all the pain would eventually pass. But I never expected this ridiculous tragedy had never truly ended.

Even though they knew I suffered from severe insomnia and anxiety, and I needed to hold Popcorn in my arms to fall asleep.

“Willow, we only helped Rosalie because we felt sorry for her.”

“Her parents died when she was young. Unlike you, she didn’t have a career or a family supporting her. You have no idea how pitiful she looked when she came to our house crying and begging us to let her be with Alpha Damian.”

“And that car accident was only meant to make you give up Popcorn. Besides, aren’t you standing here perfectly fine? Nothing even happened to you.”

So, the accident that almost destroyed my career as a warrior meant nothing to them. The last bit of hope I had held onto disappeared completely.

“Since that’s how you feel, then there’s no need for us to remain a family anymore.”

I turned to the Royal Warriors, “You heard him. He was the criminal who tampered with my car. Take him away.”

The Royal Warrior nodded, “Gamma Tobias, come with us for investigation.”

But the next second, my mother rushed forward and stood firmly in front of Tobias, “Willow, you’re just like that deadbeat father of yours. You can’t stand seeing us live a good life, can you?”

I stayed silent. But my silence only made her more furious.

She suddenly grabbed the silver dinner knife from the table and pressed it against her neck, “If you dare let the Royal Warriors take your brother away today, I’ll die right in front of you!”

The hatred in her eyes pierced through me.

All these years, I had struggled alone outside, working hard just so she and Tobias could live a life free from abuse and never have to eat spoiled food again. But every bit of sincerity I gave them was repaid with nothing but another betrayal.

I closed my eyes and stood there for a long time before finally saying with difficulty, “I’m sorry, Royal Warriors. I don’t want to pursue this matter anymore. Let it go.”

The Royal Warrior looked at me with sympathy.

In the end, he only left me one sentence, “Gamma Willow, contact us if you need anything.”

Then he turned around and walked out the door.

After a long silence, Tobias looked at my swollen cheek and handed me an ice pack, “Willow, put this on your face.”

I didn’t take it. I simply turned around and left.

The door slammed shut behind me.

“Mom, Willow won’t do anything reckless, will she?”

But no one came after me.

There was no reply, not even a single sound.

It was exactly like all the expectations I had held onto from them over the years.

I returned to the training ground and trained like a machine, pushing myself to the limit as if exhausting my body could numb the pain inside my heart.

Halfway through, a pack ally, Luna, suddenly appeared and interrupted me.

“Gamma Willow, can I ask you a question?”

“What?”

The next second, a cup of water mixed with wolfsbane was thrown directly at my face.
